In Loving Memory of

Devon - Ch Angelrush Santon Tishomingo
4/6/1994 - 11/15/2006

Sired by Ch. Seacliff's Special Effects ROM out of Ch. Santon Angelrush to Success.

Sadly, this morning I knew it was time for Devon to let go.  It was so difficult to make the decision to help my dearest friend on his way to Rainbow Bridge, but I could not let him suffer and he had reached a point where he did not want to eat or drink any longer.  My vet felt that Devon had cancer, based on his blood work, so we did what we could to make him comfortable over the past weeks for as long as we could.

I acquired Devon when he was 6 years old just after he had completed his AKC Championship title to become  American Champion Angelrush Santon Tishomingo.   Because of Devon I met his wonderful breeder, Angela Rush, who graciously shared her wealth of knowledge about the Shetland Sheepdog and also gave me gifts of prints of her incredible paintings of her Shelties and also a priceless sculpture she did of a Sheltie mother with her puppies.  My favorite print, of of Devon when he was 2 years old and it hangs in my office where I can see it everyday.  Over the years that I knew her, she sent a treasure of photos of Shelties in Devon's pedigree as well as in Desi's pedigree too.  I was honored to have Desi here on lease for almost a year and am proud to have some of his beautiful offspring in my breeding program as well as my home and heart too!

Devon will live on forever in my heart and has left an indelible stamp on the Misty Mt Shelties.  He had the sweetest kindest expression and eyes and was truly a gentle spirit.  Sleep well my precious boy and know that I am comforted to know that you will soon be with your breeder, Angela Rush, once again, that the pain is gone and the sun shines on both your youthful bodies.  Angela lost her battle with cancer just a couple of years ago and sadly left this world too soon.

Dear friends, please hug your sweet Shelties once for me, I've certainly hugged mine a lot today.  Thank you, dear June, for being there with me today and helping me to bear this burden, you are truly a very dear friend.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
